Celebrating our birthday may be of different means. Grand or simple, it boils down to the happiness we feel inside. As one throws a grand party costing him or her thousands of dollars, another celebrant can just be blissful with a little means of pampering of a spa treatment, a back massage, and how about a little piece for herself that she grabs from the nearby boutique! It does not matter as to how one will celebrate her or his birthday. What counts is the grateful attitude or feeling for the life being currently enjoyed. That's celebration. It could be at best to be with friends, share happiness with family, but more than anything else feel the bliss within for celebrating a year that successfully passed and welcoming a year ahead. Being happy for another chance to live greatly is marvellous and that is birthday celebration is all about. Some would think of food and parties but those are just adds-on to the main of the event which is the grateful feeling for the past year and the excitement of what is yet to come in a year ahead. Our birthday is the most important occasion in one's life. There is no need to declare a National Holiday during our birthdays because it is the most personalized event of our life that happens in a yearly basis.
People need to be goal-oriented. We need to aim for achievement and excellence yet our birthday will speak of one thing and that is simply enjoy life by savouring the beauty within us and what is around us just as how artists see every detail of his or her own wall painting as brilliant. A heart to heart prayer is blissful. The sight of greens and raindrops as we look outside our windows is another. And the fun we will have with friends remains the best to many. Our family should be thanked for. Yet hypocrisy aside what is celebration without friends? Even newfound friends that use to be strangers days ago can grace our birthdays with so much fun. They are blessings from heavens. They make life easy by just putting a smile in our face. Yet without them, birthdays should be pondered and savoured --- even celebrations mean gracing the occasion alone!
